There was a meeting yesterday and the Fall Festival Planning Committee has some very exciting things in the works. The corn maze has been cut and the pumpkins are really starting to grow now too. The event will run approx. the first weekend in September through middle of October (weather permitting) on Saturdays and Sundays.
The festival is a collaborative effort between Grafton Youth Hockey, Grafton Blueline Club, Grafton Parks and Rec, Grafton Chamber, and hopefully will see a lot of business sponsors too.
The plan for the Festival is to provide hours of fun for the whole family. In addition to the maze and patch, there will be tractor/grain cart rides through the trails, food vendors, bale maze for smaller kiddos, a tot area with games for the younger kiddos, corn cannon, and special attractions on some of the weekends to include petting zoo, inflatables, and many other fun things that are being finalized.
Youth hockey and Blueline Club members will be in charge of the corn cannon, pumpkin patch, and grain cart rides and will need volunteers to help these events run smoothly. More info will be available in the next few weeks. We are hoping that this fundraiser will be a great success for the program and hope to attract many people from the surrounding areas. Flyers are being set up and all sorts of media will be utilized - please "share" these posts when you see them.
If anyone has any ideas or would like to be a sponsor, contact Nick Ziegelmann for GYHA or Jodi LaHaise for GBLC.
